Established in 1873, Fort Mill is a suburb of Charlotte with a population of around 15,000 people.

Students in this area are served by the Fort Mill School District. More than 15,000 students are enrolled annually in the 16 schools within the district. The Fun-Loving Youth En-Route to Success, or FLYERS program is an afterschool program focused on creating a safe place for parents and guardians to leave their children after the school day has ended.
